The four
seasons in Fredericksburg
Spring
| Summer | Fall
| Winter
Typical Weather in the Fredericksburg area
Spring
Generally, it is a pretty mild and calm in the spring. The past couple of years have been
drier than normal and you can expect some pretty serious spring storms in the area.
Summer
Many days
are hot and humid (upper 90's, even some in the 100's), but most are
tolerable. The days offer the right weather to visit area parks for picnics,
while the cool nights offer great views of the star filled skies. The
weather is perfect for camping and sight-seeing.
Fall
The leaves are in brilliant color
and the weather is great for the time of the year. While the trees are
changing colors, the area is a pleasant site for sore eyes. Much of Fredericksburg is covered with trees, making an awesome sight with the leaves changing.
Winter
Normally, the snow fall is light. Fredericksburg, however, did make it into the record books by having the worst series of auto accidents in history. Over 100 cars collided on the interstate during one of the snow falls in 2000. The City of Fredericksburg
(along with Spotsylvania and Stafford counties) reacted quickly by getting
the roads salted and closing bridges as necessary. On a side note,
the area looked beautiful blanketed in snow. |
